Hot Sauce Review: Beast 3 by The Capsaicin Cartel

Beast 3 by The Capsaicin Cartel isn’t just another hot sauce; it’s a fire-breathing beast from Quebec. With a load of ghost peppers, eggplant, and a unique flavour profile, this sauce brings serious heat. I felt the burn immediately, even getting the hiccups after my first taste. But it’s not just about the heat; the flavor is just as intense and satisfying. Let’s dive deeper into what makes Beast 3 stand out.

Introducing: Beast 3 by The Capsaicin Cartel

The Capsaicin Cartel, based in Quebec, is run by the dynamic duo Nico and Kary-Ann. I recently met them at a market where we were both vendors and they are wonderful people to meet. Nico is a chef with a love for hot peppers and his wife Kary-Ann also has a passion for hot peppers. Together they create their unique small-batch hot sauces.

Their sauces not only taste great but also pack a serious punch, and they’ve won plenty of awards for them. One of their standout creations is Beast 3, a hot sauce loaded with White, Chocolate, Red, and Peach Ghost Peppers, along with eggplant. The flavor of the ghost peppers comes through, but it’s quickly overtaken by an intense heat.

You can grab a bottle on their website (linked below) for $30.00. Considering the amount of ghost peppers in this sauce, the price is more than fair.

Hot Sauce Made In Canada

Appearance

The hot sauce is packaged in a 236mL (8oz) pharmacy-style bottle, designed with a wide mouth for easy pouring. The label has a beige background with a striking graphic of a ghost pepper, complete with ghostly eyes and mouth, all engulfed in flames.

Each bottle is part of a limited batch of 70, with a circle marking the specific number you have. The nutritional information is displayed on one side, while a description of the sauce, in both English and French, is on the other.

The sauce itself is a light mustard yellow, with visible specks of ingredients floating around. It has a creamy consistency that pours easily, being just thick enough without causing any trouble. The sauce is well-blended, yet you’ll still find little bursts of flavor from the peppers, making for an interesting texture and taste experience.

Smell

Beast 3 smells like it means business! Just taking a whiff is enough to open up your senses and make you start to sweat. The heat is unmistakable, but there’s more to the scent. Beneath the fiery aroma, you can catch hints of garlic and onion, with a subtle note of eggplant adding a neutral base.

There’s also a touch of herbiness in the mix. Overall, the scent is warm, inviting, and definitely spicy, giving you a good idea of what’s in store when you taste it.

Taste and Flavour

This hot sauce is all about the ghost peppers, and it really highlights their distinctive chinense flavor, which I personally love. The peppers take center stage, offering that classic taste that spicy food enthusiasts crave. Beneath the heat, there’s a warm, creamy base made up of garlic and onion, which complements the peppers perfectly. However, the ghost pepper heat quickly takes over, dominating the taste buds and focusing back on that pepper heat.

Heat Level

Beast 3 is not for the faint-hearted—this sauce is seriously hot. I rate it a solid 9 out of 10 on my personal heat scale.

From the first sniff, I could feel the intensity; it even made my hair tingle and brought on a light sweat. Tasting it was a whole other level—my tongue was set ablaze within seconds. My lips started to sting, my face got sweaty, and I had the full capsaicin experience.

My nose started running, and I found myself breathing heavily just to cool down my tongue. I even started hiccuping! This sauce is incredibly hot, but it’s also packed with flavor, making it a fiery delight for those who can handle the heat.

Conclusion: Overall Thoughts

Beast 3 is a fantastic hot sauce for those who crave intense heat. It delivers the full flavor of ghost peppers along with their signature sting. The sauce also has a flavorful base of eggplant, garlic, and onion that adds depth to the heat.

Overall, I really enjoyed this sauce; it’s become my go-to whenever I want to break a sweat. So, if you’re a heat lover searching for your next super hot sauce, give The Capsaicin Cartel’s Beast 3 a try. It’s a ghost pepper experience like no other!

Please remember that taste is subjective and everyone will experience hot sauce uniquely. These reviews contain my own thoughts and opinions. If you think you’ll enjoy a hot sauce then you should definitely try it out.
